It All Began on This Day

Two years ago, I purchased my first typewriter and brought her home (well, to the hotel I was staying at...). We wrote two full-length novels together and lots of other words.

My 1935 Remington Rand Model 1 "Speed Portable." A classic and racked with sentimental value.

Photo taken the night of. The very first page, with a dried ribbon, carriage skipping, and crooked key tops.

  3. My first was a QDL (much like about half the Typosphere, from what I've heard), but a '38 Model 1 came soon after. The noiseless action is a bit too bouncy for me, though, so I forgot it in a closet for about a decade before re-discovering it:

  4. Two novels on a Model 1, wow! Color me impressed! I hardly use mine, and jsut keep it around because it's pretty and somewhat rare.

    1. Thank! Total of about 150,000 words. I've got machines that are much more comfortable, but I did t know any better back then.
