Tor Going Back to Fiction Roots

  1. It's an essential step in the hobby to learn to properly re-home extra machines, because you *WILL* have extras when you play this game properly. (:

Machines tend to flow like water through my hands, often very nice ones, but they just don't stick. About every year I dump a carload of the ones I can't even give away over to the local typewriter shop for the proprietor to either fix up & sell or use for parts. (support your local typewriter repairman). I give 'em away or sell 'em constantly. but always seem to stay at around 40 or so machines at any given time.

You'll find over time there'll be a handful you'll never get rid of that will form the core of your corral, and many, many rescues that you'll eventually not feel the slightest pang over passing on to a new owner, who will enjoy and love it in a way you just don't have the time for. (:

    1. Thank you for the encouragement, Ted! That helps me gain some perspective. Hey, would you like to have that Olympia EC 2? I've been meaning to ask you for some time.

  2. I wish I could help with your space issues - that techno Galaxie is tempting me - but I'm in the same situation, except +30 typewriters. I am absolutely filled to the brim with machines I need to sell or give away!

  3. Let me rephrase the question to better suit my problem: "Do I really need (or can I justify) 100+ machines?" ;)
    Need? - No.
    Justify? - No.
    Want? - Hell yeah!
Actually downsizing is planned for some time in my case - unfortunately it will happen only after I move home later this year (yes - dragging them from place to place will be a sweet pain...) - at least that's what I try to tell myself ;). However - I doubt it will go below 80+...
